Brand new start

I lost all my data today.
Everything.
My music, my iTunes downloads, my photos, my, my, my.

All due to a defective portable hard drive which I purchased only 20 days ago.

Someone has suggested to write a weeping, yet quite assertive email to iTunes, to recover my purchased downloads. I will first of all take my pitiful hd back to Dixons and ask them to find me a solution. Or else.
And if nothing happens with them, then I will write to iTunes.

To tell you the truth, I don't really care.
I spent the day today restoring my computer. All over again, I have a new empty hard disk (not the portable one, the C:/ drive). I have succesfully installed most of my software.
I am actually very happy to see my computer as snappy as it was when I bought it four years ago. I click on something and it actually works. I got rid of all the crappy sub-folders and extensions and plug-ins that clattered my C drive.

I am ready for In The Attic tomorrow! (That was my major concern).
Everything works fine (fingers crossed). The only problem is that I finish work at 6.15 tomorrow, so I'll miss the beginning.

I might see you all at the chatroom, when I get home.

I ♥ technology... when it works.

Wow. Lots'o'cartoons! Speaking of cartoons, have you been to MetalChick's blog? http://audioslavewoman.blogspot.com/
Scroll to her Friday post. Cute. And you'll see she has a link to http://oddsandsods.imdanet.com/ but you have probably already been there. It has some pretty good Who cartoons. Check it out if you haven't already.

Hi Marietta,
That sucks! I remember when I had to restore my computer, I had also lost my music and pictures. At least those things can be brought back, but it sucks if you have imporant files such as your work.

Here's some suggestions that will help you in the future. It seems like your computer had a worm virus, so you should get a good spyware detection program along with an anti-virus program.
If you want a good way to back up any of your files, including pictures and music, you should get a flash drive. It's a small device the size of a lighter, but has a memory from 256 MB to 10 GB. They're a little pricey depending on how much memory you get, but it's worth it.

Thank you PTFan! I appreciate you spreading the word.
Both of you should check out my newest post.

Aww, honey, sorry you've lost it all and have to do the whole restoration thing.

I hope your begging to iTunes will pan out. Thanks for popping by to say hello. Have fun watching ITA- I will be in professional workshops and somehow I don't think I'll get away with a laptop and an earphone. :)

Cheers,
AM

Dear Marietta

I'm so sorry to hear that you're having computer troubles.
Good cartoons, though & it seems your blog is up & running again.
We can't be missing ITA!

I will be at work & on the good computer there, so maybe I'll see you then.

Murphy is no better, yet no worse.

Take care & hope to see you tomorrow. I've got my fingers crossed for you!

Love
Dale

Hi Marietta, thanks for coming by. I am always paranoid about losing stuff in my computer, especially with my dial-up, because I am unable to download the virus protection. I had it cleaned up a couple of weeks ago had over 2000 spyware stuff on it. was close to losing it all. I am going to try to view ITA tomorrow, fingers crossed. Have a blast at the shows this summer! ox Grace

Sorry to hear about your computer woes Marietta. By chance, can you tell me the name of the portable hard drive you were using? Hope it wasn't ours. I had given Pete one at Basement Jam and he wants another 4 to take on tour with him. I'll assume that your music was only located on this external drive? What a nightmare.

Hi Marietta,
I hope you can recover your music and pictures. I would be devasted if I lost all of that.

That really sucks.

Dear Marietta

Thanks for the kind words on my blog. I've been quite devastated - more than I imagined. The weather has been totally nuts with wind, rain, thunder, lightning storms blowing through the sunshine. It feels like me...

Thanks again, Sweetie!
